Manufacturing on the rise? Time to invest in a laser machine.

With the UK Manufacturing industry set for a rapid period of recovery and growth, now is the time for businesses to invest in new technologies. Now is the time to upgrade your engraving/marking capacity with an N-Lase laser system.

The global Covid-19 pandemic proved an incredibly challenging time for all industries, and manufacturing was no exception. In the midst of worldwide restrictions on day-to-day life and the temporary closure of a large chunk of the economy, the industry had to adapt to 18 months of furloughs, redundancies and a rapid drop in production levels.

Fast forward to today, however, and the outlook for UK manufacturing is looking much brighter. According to a recent survey conducted by Make UK, the sector is now set to recover a significant amount of that loss in 2021 and outpace theflag-of-united-kingdom-against-sunset-FVT6LRT growth of the economy overall. This growth is based on a surge in both domestic and overseas orders which is translating into strong hiring intentions.

'Investment intentions have also turned positive for the first time since Q1 2020, suggesting that the introduction of the temporary super-deduction tax in the Budget is having some impact, coupled with improved growth  prospects.                                                                       Picture: twenty20photos

According to the survey, the balance on output improved to +36% from +9% in Q1, which is the highest output balance in the survey’s 30 year history. Looking forward, output is expected to continue to improve with a forecast balance of +46% in Q3, which would be another record high. Such a positive growth outlook for the industry makes now the ideal time to invest in new technologies, in order for businesses to expand their offering to their customers. We have already written about how our N-Lase systems can provide an excellent solution for asset marking, and one of our flagship laser machines is assisting a new manufacturing research consortium at Herriot Watt University.
